I would recommend people buying the complete sets from Yahoo! Auctions Japan instead (as I did), as there are several complete sets there all the time, with the cheapest one right now (buy it now option) is 4000 yen (~52 USD).

    • Elanor Pam says:

….wow, that sure does look like better business! XD Do you have a link to that specific auction, though? And do they ship to the Americas?

      • Gourry says:

About nine times of ten they don’t. So you have two options, either you have a friend in Japan that can buy it for you and ship it to you when she/he receives it.

The other option is to use a service provider that does it for you. On of many is http://celga.com/ , which I used several times. Of course they will take a fee for their service, to know the total cost, read their FAQ.

Here is a link to some of the auctions: http://goo.gl/8KDbT
Remember, there are more items up there than the manga, because it’s what the Japanese use instead of eBay.

  2. WHOA! That’s why it’s a good thing to read the comments! Great! Maybe someday, i wish i had this collection =X

  3. ShiroiRyu says:

    Why i don’t have a job ? :(
    Why i don’t have money ? x_x
    Why i don’t understand japanese ? WHYYYYYY ?!

  4. ShiroiRyu says:

BAD NEWS ! BAD NEWS !

    http://www.manga-news.com/index.php/actus/2011/10/07/3-series-se-terminent-dans-le-Young-Gangan?

That will be finished with only 8 or 9 volumes ! o_o

    • Elanor Pam says:

But… how? The plot isn’t anywhere close to finished, and it kind of already has enough chapters to make 8 volumes. One more volume simply won’t close all the open issues.

Hell, Hamel and Flute haven’t even arrived in Sfz yet :/

  5. ShiroiRyu says:

    So … It’s look like its a no sale issue ? :(
    Man, i’m sad. x_x
Or it’s just the end of a first “part” and he will continue in another one ?
    I HOPE !

I have no idea – I can’t read french. But do you know how trustworthy this site is? Maybe it’s better to wait for confirmation one way or another from Anime News Network or a better known site.

  6. mangaka-chan says:

I think the news is based off of this scan from the latest(?) chapter of VoH:S, so I think it’s legitimate.

I can only read the kanji, and it does mention the final chapter. I have no idea what’s been going on since chapter 63, or how many chapters have been released since then, but I also can’t see how this series is going to end without being rushed. (Though I suppose it would be Watanabe’s style to use this as a joke on Flute and Hamel. They traveled all this way so urgently, only to arrive in Sfz after the battle’s won. Heck, I can even imagine Great smugly saying “What took you guys so long?” to troll his parents)

    • Elanor Pam says:

最終回【さいしゅうかい】 (n) last time; last inning; last part.

http://michiakiblog.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/ I’m trying to read his hand-written notes and he does seem to be saying that “Shchelkunchik is reaching the last part” or something like that…..:( I still can’t believe it, though! The manga’s nowhere near finished!

Of course, I don’t put it past Watanabe to troll us either. XD;; Maybe it’ll change titles, though? One can hope.

      • mangaka-chan says:

If we get trolled I’m hoping it’s by Watanabe and not by the publisher who’s axing this series due to low-sales. :p

I *think* the original VoH series switched magazine at some point, so I don’t know if a similar thing could happen with Schelkunchik.

        • Elanor Pam says:

10x yes. I don’t know about the original, I only found out about it when it was finished, but I’ve heard of other manga which did switch names while changing magazines… so it’s possible? Here’s hoping.

  7. ShiroiRyu says:

I have trust on manga-news, it’s one of the best informations websites in french. Not like ANN but hey … XD

  8. Gisele "Alandria" says:

I’ll just pretend I don’t know any of this until it’s official, which I hope it’s not. Too sad for my sanity.

  9. pumiechan says:
