1. Sad news :(

October 23, 2011 by Elanor Pam

According to this ANN article and Watanabe Michiaki’s blog, Shchelkunchik ended this friday.

I had trouble reading Watanabe’s last entry – because I was upset, kinda, but also because he’s a terrible typist (he writes ellipses with commas) – and he actually apologizes for the abrupt ending. I’m not sure what’s the cause of the sudden interruption in the story, but according to the comments on his previous entry, it appears he’s been suffering from health or stress issues… lots of people were telling him to rest and take it easy! It’s all very worrying.

He also spoke a little about a possibly hilarious love story for Cornet and Trom (maybe an extra for the last volume?) and that his computer had some sort of trouble while he was writing a script… it’s all kind of confusing, pretty much a stream-of-consciousness entry.

In any case, the future of Shchelkunchik remains bleak and uncertain, mostly because I’m pants at reading so much kanji and katakana put together in a block. Running text is so completely different from friendly morsels of dialogue! A better japanese reader is welcome to make sense of this entry and correct me, hopefully with better news. But until then, let us mourn together. This was sudden and unexpected and the story was not at all ready to be finished. There were so many irons in the fire!

    However…

Hope is not alltogether lost! I can’t do anything to make Shchelkunchik stop stopping, but I can do THIS

    Hameln Page!

I can see the screentones! OH MY GOD.

Thanks to these great raws a little fairy has provided me. EVERYONE GO EXPRESS YOUR THANKS NOW NOW NOW

  3. New Theme

August 21, 2011 by Elanor Pam

There was a bug with the comment indenting in the previous theme which I just couldn’t figure out how to fix, so I just went for a new one. The base theme is Liquorice (you can easily find it in the wordpress site), which I modified slightly to add the big image on the left. It’s not as busy on the eyes as the previous one, though it’s also a bit hard to make changes in it. Warn me if you find any bugs or issues!

  4. Full 37 vol. set of the original Hameln series for sale

August 20, 2011 by Elanor Pam

A friend of mine has a duplicate set of the original Violinist of Hameln series in good conditions that she’s willing to part with. I really do wish I could buy it myself, but sadly that’s not the case.

More information HERE, and the e-bay page for it is HERE.

Be the envy of all your fellow fans and buy the complete set! And if you do… could you scan the first 5 volumes for me? It’s for a good cause! :D

  5. Reuploading files

August 19, 2011 by Elanor Pam

Chapters 41, 47 and 48 had a little issue with file naming that made pages 2-9 appear at the end of the chapter. Usually, I name pages 1 to 9 with a zero – as in 01, 02, etc – so file display modes won’t make them go wonky like this, but for some reason I forgot to do it in these three chapters… they’re fixed now, so I suggest you guys download them again.

041 – Symphony of the Stars of Hope
    047 – Return to School I
048 – Return to School II

Also you may not have noticed it, but there’s a facebook Like Box at the sidebar so you can go and feed my ego.
