And you know, I did have my suspicions about how long she’d been “considering” Bert. I don’t know who I feel more sorry for here- actually, I’m not sure why I’d feel sorry for either of ‘em, really!
Actually, that’s not Bert! XD; Sorry about that, the quick watercolor thing doesn’t help, does it? That’s actually Theo, Nancy’s abusive jerkass cousin from chapter 3, who was the only male down the family line and thus would inherit the inn. Nancy’s parents had arranged for him to marry her, but obviously Bea had a different idea.

Which is probably part of the reason I thought it was Bert. That and Theo just doesn’t look the same without some sort of evil freaky expression on his face.
